Paulie’s Vault

Paulie was a staple in the Syracuse music scene, and for 40 years he recorded shows of all genres from a multitude of venues. When he passed away he left behind a MASSIVE collection of completely unreleased recordings he had acquired. Most he did himself, some he got through the forgotten art of tape trading. Each episode will feature a whole set (or at least as much of the set as Paulie taped). Some are great sounding soundboards, others are decent audience recordings he made, some are just awful soundng that are here for history’s sake( fear not you will be forewarned). We hope you enjoy this collection of rarities, including a plethora of unheard Syracuse history. Brought to you by The Lost Horizon. Theme song by Greg Pier.

What a gem here. We have an incredible sounding recording of Greg Allman doing a solo set at The Lost Horizon. Add this to the list of things I can't believe happened here.

On this episode we have a rare show from Born Again Savages at The Lost Horizon in 1992. At this point they still had their original lineup that they only played 2 or 3 shows with. The sound is excellent. This is much more progressive than the punk band they would become.

Today we have the New Years Day 2010 performance from Black SS, about a B- in sound quality. Fast, fun and worth a listen with no doubt. Opening by Chuck SS.

On this episode we have great set from Eyehategod that sounds pretty damn good too! They play all of your favorite hits and have more feedback than you can shake a stick at.

One of the best sounding recordings I have come upon so far. I can't believe this is even a thing that happened, but yet here it is! Introduction by Paulie's brother David.

Today we have a great set from Negative Approach at The Lost Horizon from when they were touring with Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School Of Medicine. Killer sound on this one.

On this episode we have a pretty good sounding show from Savatage at The Lost Horizon on the "Gutter Ballet" tour. Both Oliva brothers are present for this recording. This band would later morph into The Trans Siberian Orchestra!

Today we have a set from Deafheaven at The Lost Horizon when they were opening for Between The Buried And Me. A good sounding set raning from B-/B. During the first song the audio drops out a bit. I fixed it the best I could, fear not it comes back in a minute or so.

Here is another extremely crazy thing that happened and I had no idea. Allman Brothers at Manley Field House in Syracuse University at their peak in 1972. Obviously this is one Paulie traded for, but it is no doubt an important piece of Syracuse history. The sound is phenomenal, so kick back and relax and enjoy this incredible set.

On this episode we have a killer set from Ecliptic Vision at The Lost Horizon on June 29, 2018. The intro is done by their vocalist Josh Rivet. This is also my first attempt at doing audio cleanup and I think I did a damn good job.
